The tone of this blog is about to change. Our church has been involved in mission work in Mbour, Senegal for almost two years. It is obvious that God is working there. My wife and I began to feel that we were being led to work full-time in Senegal. So, after much prayer and prodding by the Holy Spirit we began the process.
Our first contact with our potential employer was in November 2007. After many months of an application process we are nearly through. A decision will be made on September 9th. Will you join us in praying for God's will in this?
We have not slowed down in our work in Senegal. There has been a steady stream of mission teams at Keru Naan. Churches from all over the country, as well as mission sending organizations have been sending teams to minister in Mbour and the surrounding villages. Progress is being made on all fronts.
Some churches have even decided to help us with the cost of Keru Naan. That is GREATLY appreciated. The falling value of the dollar has caused our expenses to increase quite drastically.
We are always looking for others to partner with us in this work.
Please pray for the team from Hyde Park Baptist church who will be in Mbour beginning the 4th of August. This team is primarily a youth group who will focus on ministering to the youth in the area. Also, the next team from our church will be leaving at the end of October. This three person team of women will continue the ongoing work among the ladies in Mbour.
As for us...if we are accepted as career missionaries we will be leaving Seabrook in January 2009 for training. The initial training will be followed by several months of training in another country in West Africa and we will finally arrive in Mbour sometime in the late Spring of '09.
